It's feeling a lot like the Arctic!

Deanna Jump's Arctic Animals unit fit perfectly with all of this cold weather we have been having!  My goodness! The students loved learning about walruses and polar bears.  One of their favorite activities was observing how blubber helps animals stay warm in the cold weather.  The students put their hand in a bag filled with shortening to act as the blubber.  There was another bag inside so the students never did touch the shortening.  Check out some of their informational writings and observation logs in the pictures below!
