Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures!

I'm sorry I'm behind on posting my pictures!  I have quite a bit to share!  We learned a lot about apples a couple weeks ago. It was a ton of fun as well! We learned about Johnny Appleseed, the life cycle of an apple, what an apple tree does in different seasons, and more!  We also labeled the parts of an aple.  To help us become familiar with labeling we labeled one of our students!  Of course, the kids loved it! One of the students' favorite activities was making applesauce.  A big thank you to Mrs. Bley for letting us borrow her apple peeler again!  Here is the recipe:

Applesauce Recipe:
10 lg. cooking apples, peeled, cored & sliced or cut in chunks
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 to 1 c. sugar

Enjoy our pictures!

We also have been busy with celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  We were so excited to have Fred Bird come and share his message of Doin' It Right!  All of the other buildings came out to support us and the high school band even played!  What a hit!

Last week we had one of my favorite days, the 50th Day of School!  We used a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast life today and back in the 1950's, listened to a real record, had a sock-hop, hula hooped, measured records, made 50 tally marks, made root beer floats and more!  Check out the pictures below!

Whew!  That was a lot of pictures!  Sorry for the delay!  This next week should be exciting too with the election and Veterans' Day!
