Open House 2015

Tonight was my 10th open house! (My first year started after Open House.) It was so great to meet all of my new kindergarteners! I feel this is going to be a great class this year! So many were so excited about staring school! I've taught many grade levels, but kindergarten is my favorite. I love how they learn and grow so much in just a short year! Students and Activities Worth Melting for...

This week we read several books and did several activities about snowmen.  We read The Biggest Best Snowman, The Best Snowman Ever, Sadie the Snowman and more.  Here are some pictures of the writings and activities we did.  We even made snowmen out if shaving cream and glue! 

We Run for St. Jude!

This was our second year, we had a pledge run for St. Jude. It always makes me so proud to work with such amazing dedicated teachers, parents, and students.  Our entire building shuts down for the day, and we head over to the middle school track to run for St. Jude. The students tally laps and many have gotten pledges.  The bracelets the students wore this year had an actual St. Jude patient's name on it so the students had someone to run for.  They ran their little hearts out and at the end they even got medals!! Off to the Pumpkin Patch!

We had the perfect day for our field trip! The kids had a blast! It's always so exciting for them to see the pumpkin life cycle! Here are a few pictures from the day.  

Apple Time!!

Last week we learned about apples.  We learned about the life cycle, Johnny Appleseed, created prints making ABC patterns, and even made delicious applesauce! Thanks to all of the parents who donated items! Enjoy the pictures! 

October is Fire Safety Month

This year we had another great visit from the R-7 firefighters! The kids love when they come to visit! They do a great job talking to the kids and making sure they know the proper safety tips. Here are some pictures of our fire safety week.  

Homecoming 2014

This year's homecoming theme was Disney, and it was a hit!! The costumes were great, tons of participation, and our kids loved it just as much as the older ones.  Here are some pictures from the week.
